Breath is the most powerful tool, yet the most simple. We are breathing all the time, but most of the time we are completely unconscious of it. We are breathing, but we are not aware of our breath. When your awareness jumps from one thing to another constantly, your healing energies and creative forces are lost or dissipated. What happens if you bring all of your attention to breathing? Your energies begin to accumulate and by observing your breathing, you will learn a lot about yourself.
“Breath is the bridge which connects life to consciousness, which unites your body to your thoughts. Whenever your mind becomes scattered, use your breath as the means to take hold of your mind again.” – Thich Nhat Hanh
I first discovered Conscious Connected Breathwork when I was working at a raw food and detox retreat in Ubud. The retreat leader/teacher encouraged me to take part in a session one day on my break time and I remember thinking to myself ‘Hmm ok, maybe I can breathe, relax a bit and (maybe sleep)’. Little did I know what I was about to experience was life-changing! All we had to do was lie down and breathe through an open mouth with no pause between the inhale and exhale so that a connected breath is created, rapidly oxygenating the system. As I lay amongst 10 other people, I started to tingle all over my body, with energy and aliveness. Tears were streaming down my cheeks, memories and images of my childhood, my family started to appear, it was beautiful to see some things that had been buried and forgotten. I could sense that other people were having some major breakthroughs but I was so deep in my own journey, for once I was not afraid to let go and surrender, letting the mind step aside for a while. The whole breathwork journey was one hour long and at the end, as we slowly moved to a seated position, I remember thinking how quick one hour was! And that was the beginning of my many breathwork sessions until I decided to take the facilitator training.
My journey in the training was quite special as I was pregnant with my second born then. As I was carrying my baby in my belly, I attended a 10 day breathwork retreat where I got to hold space for many people coming in to breathe daily. At that moment I realised that all I need to do is step up, show up, hold the space, trust my intuition and breathe. From then on I’ve witnessed many people let go of their old patterns and beliefs and what no longer serve them, they’re no longer afraid to embrace their inner little ones, gaining insights and clarity around life decisions, and I see people heal, transform, become more empowered and feel more connected to themselves – ready to share more love to the world!
Breath is a source of healing and insights, connection to the spirit and a powerful tool to release emotional, mental and physical traumas and tension. By exploring the breath, we discover ourselves. By changing the way we breathe, we change the way we live. I hope you can join us on a Breathwork Journey!BREATHWORK EVENT
